You don’t need permission to call yourself a dancer…
LANGLEY’S LEADING ADULT DANCE STUDIO
you just need a space that sees you as one from day one.
Reframing dance and who it’s for
Nikita Lafreniere built Hustle & Flow Dance in 2021 to create a space for people from all backgrounds, shapes, and sizes to take up space and dance to their heart’s content.
Growing up, Nikita felt that she was never the "right size" to be a "real dancer." Back then, dancers had to have a certain look (*cough* be thin *cough*). She spent years believing she wasn't enough, worried about the way her clothes fit and what others would think of her when she tried something new in class.
But she saw the power of dance—how it brought people together and how confident she felt when she moved with strength and ease.
So, after 18 years of dancing & performing, Nikita created a space with 2 key rules: she’s not allowed to judge herself and no one else is allowed to judge her…
A space that has welcomed people from all walks of life, and continues to help people grow in confidence as they dance—translating that confidence into their everyday life.
Let’s stop playing small & take up space
At Hustle & Flow, we ask our dancers to move with these in mind:
Don’t judge yourself
This is your time to explore, grow, and enjoy movement. As hard as it may be, forget about how you look and focus on how you feel. Perfection isn't the goal— freedom is.
Don’t judge others
Give others the same grace you give yourself. Just as you're here to feel strong, confident, and have fun, so is everyone else.
Have fun!
We don't take ourselves too seriously, and neither should you. Dance is about joy, expression, and feeling good!
Where you’re seen as a person first, dancer second.
We’ve helped 600+ people fall in love with the version of themselves they’re becoming—through the art of dance…
Whether you’ve been dancing your whole life or looking to try dance for the first time as an adult.
We help you…
Learn new skills, without judgment.
Move at your pace. Every class was designed with you in mind—at today’s level of training & confidence. No judgment.
Move with freedom & safety.
Never feel like you’re stretched past your physical safety. Each class includes a full warm-up, teaching portion and review of foundational technique and movements.
Strut in and out of class with confidence.
Build skills, learn choreography, and have fun! You’ll not only look great in your TikTok and Instagram videos—you’ll feel confident knowing you’re mastering a skill in a safe environment.
“Such a positive community of dancers.”
I can't gush enough about what an amazing experience it is to dance with the people here and how good it will make you feel.

Nikita Lafreniere
PROGRAM DIRECTOR | FOUNDER & CEO
With over 25 years of dance and performance experience, Nikita has guided adults with zero dance experience, former "studio kids" returning to the studio after years away, men trying dance for the first time, women in their 60s crossing "dance class" off their bucket list, and experienced dancers ready to take steps toward making dance their job and not just their hobby—by helping them discover their most confident selves and building their dance knowledge.
Nikita’s idea of rest is reading anything and everything, spending time with her family, working out, or recharging with her favourite people.
